Our Story
For a decade and a half, Lia Cardoso worked nonstop — travelling across the country, teaching, always on call. Every client who sat in her chair had the same story: too many products, not enough results. Skin that was tired, dull, dehydrated — overwhelmed by routines that promised everything and delivered confusion.
When Covid stopped the world in 2020, it stopped Lia too. And in that stillness, she did what she had been thinking about for years: she went back to her roots as a formulator and created the product she had always wished existed — the Antioxidant Facial Oil. One formula. Botanical. Designed to restore hydration, fight fatigue, and deliver real results in minutes, not months.
That product became the foundation of Skin Leaf Cosmetics. And the conviction behind it became the brand's philosophy: the skin can only absorb so much. Less is more — if what you use is right.
From Portugal to the World
While Skin Leaf Cosmetics is headquartered in the United States and ships nationwide, its roots and laboratory remain in Portugal — where each formula is developed with European-grade precision and a deep respect for botanical ingredients. This dual identity — American reach, European formulation standards — is at the core of what makes Skin Leaf different.
Today, the brand serves customers across the United States, Portugal, and Spain, offering a curated range of plant-intelligent skincare products designed for conscious beauty consumers who value ingredient transparency, minimalist rituals, and long-term skin health.

Lia Cardoso is a Portuguese-born cosmetics formulator, skin expert, and professional makeup artist with 15 years of hands-on experience. She built Skin Leaf Cosmetics without outside funding, without a PR agency, and without compromise — rooted in a single belief: skincare is healthcare.
Beyond the brand, Lia hosts Skin Leaf Talks — a weekly podcast now in its seventh season, recognised as one of the 50 Best Skincare Podcasts of 2026 by FeedSpot. Her mission is to make plant-intelligent skincare genuinely accessible, and to educate her community so they can make confident, informed choices about what they put on their skin.
